Crazy “Universe Bending” Believers Already Trying to Prevent Bousman’s ’11 11 11′

A few days ago, we brought you news of 11 11 11, Darren Lynn Bousman’s newly announced supernatural thriller about the 11:11 phenomenon. Details about the project are very vague at this point, but the 11:11 concept deals with that number turning up in people’s lives and how it is said to signal the presence of angels trying to communicate with them.

What we do know is that film centers on the idea that there are “11 gates of Heaven and how on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate will open up and something from another world will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes.” What will that something be? Will it be God? Angels? Some supernatural menace? No one knows.

That hasn’t stopped some ardent believers of the 11:11 philosophy from imagining the worst and laying the plans to wage psychic warfare on the film, Hollywood, and Darren Lynn Bousman. Dread Central uncovered these plans by perusing several different message boards devoted to 11:11 with threads discussing the planned film.

“My first reaction was anger then I thought start a Petition, however then my thought was if we did that then it will draw more attention to the movie and more will want to see it, so maybe ignoring it will be better, or how about all of us changing the future by projecting that the movie fails at the box office or projecting that he doesn’t raise enough money to make it, if enough of [us] do this maybe the movie will never manifest itself. [sic] “

For real — why start a petition when you can project and change the future?

“well [sic] i [guess] we know hes not on the side of light especialy [sic] since he is destroying our mission … if my energy and universe bending can do anything he will pay for this and he will regret the day he decided to do this film … “

This one is scary. What chance does Bousman have in the face of someone with the power of universe bending? I don’t even know if The X-Men are capable of stopping a force like that …

There are more over at DC, covering many of these same themes. As the site points out, these are the extreme reactions and there are many many more 11:11 folk taking a much more calm approach to the project. So, don’t paint every person who believes in the phenomenon with the same brush.

As far as Bousman is concerned, he had this to say on the topic: “I understand their concern, but I wish people would know facts before throwing stones.” Sounds like good advice to me.
